Raw Valentine Brownies

Raw Valentine Brownies

Valentines Day is only a few days away and it doesn’t get any easier than with this simple healthy & delectable raw brownie recipe. I brought a batch of these to work and the response was incredible. They couldn’t believe that these were not baked and sweetened with only dates. Decadent yet simple & quick.

  • 1 1/2 Cups Pecans or Walnuts
  • 1/2 Cup Hemp Seeds
  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa or Cacao Powder
  • 2 – 2 1/2 Cups Dates, Soaked for 10 minutes (2 Cups if you like it dark)
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Optional Toppings (Shredded Coconut, additional nuts or freeze dried fruit ground to use for sprinkles… I used dried pomegranate)

Pulse nuts & seeds in a food processor till you have a fine crumb. Add in the dates & remaining ingredients. Pulse till you have a crumbly sticky dough.

Press dough into an 8×8 inch pan lined with parchment. Frost brownies (chocolate frosting recipe follows) if desired, chill for about 20 minutes in the freezer and cut into heart shapes with a cookie cutter. Makes about 12 heart shaped brownies depending on the size of your cutter. Not sure what to do with your leftover pieces from the cutting out the heart shapes? Two choices come to mind, eat the pieces or make Raw Cake Pops.
